James entered the not-for-profit sector as CFO of Trinity Basin Preparatory in 2015, then concurrently as the CFO of IL Texas in 2020. His background is in private and public corporations where he served in varying roles including CFO, Controller and VP of Finance. A graduate of the University of Chicago (MBA, 1998) and DePaul University (BS, 1993), James is a CPA with over 20 years’ experience and is also a certified Charter School Business Officer and United States Navy veteran. James continues to serve as CFO of Trinity Basin Preparatory and joins DSS as Chief Executive Officer.
